Medieval Stained Glass of England (83 images)
From approximately 1100 to the beginning of the Reformation in 1530 there was a golden age of stained glass in England. As an art form stained glass displayed in churches, cathedrals and monasteries was unparalleled as a means to disseminate the Catholic Orthodoxy to the mass of the population. Not only was the art beautiful and enchanting, but it told stories of wonder and mystery. This is a small showcase of stained glass surviving in England and which still has the power to enthrall.
